Blog Virgin

"Hello World, I'm your wild girl!"~The Runaways

So here goes nuthin'!

Most people think that I have been living under a rock for the last year.  I don't like cell phones, I just learned to text and I don't know what StumbleUpon or Flickr is.  Truth is, I think I have been.  It was a self-imposed rock, since spending the previous 7 years in foreign countries, I just didn't want to be so connected.  Life in other countries is not nearly as fast and furious as it is here in the States.

Sometimes going to the store gives me a migraine, just from the varieties of ice cream.  I had gotten used to the very limited choices, and now the stress of having to pick the right brand and find the best price makes my brain explode!

My goal with this blog is to bring my world back to a simpler, calmer, more home-made place.  Where I know who made favorite things and where they actually have a sentimental value.  I want to teach my young children the feeling you get when you make something with your own hands, when you put so much love and care into each piece that they eventually take on a part of you.  Heirlooms and Traditions are central to my life.  Someday I'll tell you all the story of my life and you'll see why I am big on starting traditions and getting back to core family values.  Now I'm not talking about religion, but simply caring for each other and caring about where things come from.

Down off my soapbox.  That's my reasoning behind everything I do and make.  Having said that, I am crazy and silly and I love people.  I am a gypsy of sorts, being a military spouse, and my husband claims I have crafting ADHD.  I love to change and try new things.  I love to make and give special things for all the special people I meet.  I hope you enjoy this blog and I look forward to getting to know all of you!

  13. That was good! I enjoyed reading your post!

I know exactly what you are talking about and life in other countries at slower pace, with less of everything. I remember that first shopping experience in the States like it was yesterday.

Anyway, looking forward to read more of your blogs,
